The BioSculptor® Software is specifically
designed as a tool for the O&P professional.
Modification capabilities are extensive,
facilitated by a comprehensive screen
display. These tools allow the practitioner to
incorporate their individual clinical
techniques. A partial list of modification tools
includes: image re-alignment, sanding, filling,
and smoothing, popliteal compression,
cross-section pattern modification, A-P, M-L,
and circumferential fitting, tension factors,
trimline and specific tendon shape
manipulations modifiable AK and BK brim
attachments, distal end buildup, plastic shrinkage compensation,
additional girth,
percentage changes, segmental bending of the model in the A-P or
M-L plane, rotation
around joints, and regions.
All modifications can be seen through the visualization tools,
which allow the user to 'feel'
the model. Tools include: topographical line scans, wireframe
models, hidden line
models, compression and relief models, and shaded solid models.
The movie modes
allow the practitioner to spin or rotate the model, move between
two user defined views,
and watch modifications take place as the model changes from the
initial cast to a
completed modified model.
The automatic backup function constantly saves all work done, and
the undo function
cancels the most recent modifications.
With no intricate menus to remember, the learning curve on the
BioSculptor® System is no
longer than one or two days.
